Twins!

Oh my goodness, I haven’t blogged the birth of Miss Harper Jane and Miss Willow Grey?! I can’t get over what an amazing experience this birth was. I have been dying to go inside of an OR during a c-section. I mean, dying. and finally…. I got to check it off of the bucket list. I loved every minute of it. Just a huge thank you to Momma and Daddy for trusting me with this day. It was just unforgettable.

Here is the link to their birth story… Song picked by Mommy and Daddy <3

Baby Vivian

19 inches long

Born May 19th 12:48am

First and foremost I want to say a huge huge THANK YOU to Jehan of Jehan Inc. photos. Seriously. I owe her my life and then some! 😉

Baby McMahon was due to arrive May 18th. Scheduled induction at Mount Carmel West. One slight curve ball in my baby  plan. I had a wedding. And all of typical backup photographers were all at weddings. I KNEW this would happen at some point! And I KNEW it would all work out as well! I began my search for another back up photographer in case I couldn’t make it. I knew Rhonda aka Momma-to-be PROBABLY wouldn’t go too fast since this was her first baby and she was being induced. So I still had high hopes of making it in time.  Another fellow photographer friend Ashley, referred me to Jehan. THANKFULLY! I love other photographers that are willing to lend a hand when someone is in need. It makes our lives so much easier knowing we can all have each others back, SO Thank you Jehan for stepping up to plate and doing an AWESOME job. So with that being said… I have to give credit where credit is due. You did a  great job girl!

Baby Bennett

Baby Bennett

May 4th 2013

7:36 am

8lbs. 4 oz. 21 inches long.

A few weeks ago Sarah (aka Momma) contacted me. I was ecstatic! I photographed big brother Masons newborn photos so I was so excited to see them again!

We knew baby Bennett was breech. After many prayers and finger-crossin’s that he would flip… a c-section was scheduled for Monday May 6th. Saturday May 4th, I got a call at 5:30am. Sarah’s water had broken and it was go time! My planning began. I had to be at a wedding that day at noon. It worked out perfectly. My assistant for the day (aka Tasha) met me at the hospital incase I needed to take off and she could finish up the birth for me. (Just incase!)  It couldn’t have gone any better! When we arrived Sarah was having contactions (yay!-  at least you got to feel REAL contractions Sarah! haha) I knew they would take her quickly, once she arrived. and they did. I gave Dad a quick run down of my second camera and sent them on their way. 7:36 am Mr. Bennett was born. Welcome to the world baby boy!

Thanks Sarah and Korey for letting me share Bennetts day with you!

updates!

As some of you know, I am a very busy gal. I haven’t posted much on Face book or my blog lately because, I just don’t have time. My website needs some major revamping, and I’d love to re-brand at some point as well. I have however, found my passion in the mean time. Photography has always been a passion of mine. I love meeting new people constantly. I love watching babies grow up, families growing, and witnessing a past bride and a groom become parents. That, my friends, is it. Where my heart is. I still love the weddings and such as well. But there is something deep in my soul that drives me to push for this Birth Photography thing. I love it. Simply adore it. I have said it before, there is no greater feeling than becoming a parent yourself. That moment, that very first moment when you witness your innocent babies first breath of air. Imagine living that again and again. Imagine the emotion. Giving birth to my babies was by far my most favorite part of my life. And I get to witness miracles, each and every time. The thrill and excitement is amazing beyond words. So to make a long story short, this is where I am meant to be. I have a pretty flexible schedule, and a fabulous support system to back me up. With that being said, I will be closing the doors to the “portrait photographer/wedding photographer” part of my life. (for the most part anyway) With the exception of the few weddings I already have booked next month,  I am going to put my heart and soul where it belongs. In the past few weeks, I have booked 7 new births spread over the next few months. I have plenty of back up and have thought this through over and over again in my head. As we all know, labor and delivery can be tricky. It will require me to be “on-call” and make some sacrifices on my end, but I’m so down for it.

So, there it is! Birth Photography will be my focus. I am so excited about this leap I can’t explain it! That doesn’t mean you can’t ask. For a family session , etc. Especially to my past clients. If I am not available, I can refer you to a few other of my favorite photographers out there! Thank you to each and every one of you who have ever been a part of my photography life as it has brought me here! 🙂

xoxo
